A word from the CEO

The second edition of our journal will reach a rapidly expanding audience of volunteers, expert, corporate and education partners. The role of communication for The Great Generation is pivotal as we work towards developing our network into a dynamic and effective vehicle for change.

But communicating to such a diverse audience – heads of local NGOs, sixth form students, corporate employees, European MBAs – can be challenging, both to reach them and to make sure the message is right when it gets there. Technology helps, but we cannot assume that everyone has access to email or the www as we recently discovered working with students from a low income area in the UK. It can also prove frustratingly unreliable or non-existent as we are frequently reminded when we are working in communities in need.

While we endeavour to resolve how to reach everyone with our message, the key thing in 2008 is pushing out our message - you can make a difference, together we can make an even greater difference; and You Can Be The Great Generation.
