Supply Chain - Calder High
One of the major things that stood out to Calder High group of volunteers was discovering the barriers to education faced by children impacted by HIV/AIDS. As one of our student volunteers said:
“… My mobile phone bill, could pay for 4 kids to school for a year … it really really shocked me. People always say that its good to donate money to good causes, but until you’re actually in the situation and you see people … like an old woman looking after a child that isn’t even hers, out of the goodness of her heart … yeah, well it’s pretty amazing...”
For this reason this group of volunteers decided to focus the Supply Chain items around getting more kids into school. When you donate, please put the Supply Chain item in the comment box so we can make sure it gets to the right place.

About the Calder High Community Development Project
This July we took a group of 11 students and 5 teachers from Calder High out to to volunteer on a two week community development project.
This project took place in Kampala in partnership with one of our Expert Partners that works on holistic HIV/AIDS treatment and outreach in a very poor slum area of Kampala. If you would like to find out more about this project please click here.
What is the Supply Chain?
For those of you who do not know, The Great Generation Supply Chain is a unique way for our volunteers to become ambassadors for the local communities whom they have lived and worked with during their project.
Our volunteers work together with our Expert Partners and local communities to identify small items which can make a big difference. We advertise these items here and volunteers promote these Supply Chain items to YOU, their friends and family and when you donate money towards a particular Supply Chain item you know that the money is going to where it is needed most.
The Great Generation and its volunteers, partners and local communities thank you for your contribution towards a world free of poverty.
