Who is The Great Generation?
The Great Generation is a movement of people dedicated to making a differenceIs The Great Generation a charity?
Yes! Our Charity number is 1120349.What is an Expert Partner?
Our expert partners are established NGOs or aid agencies with strong local connections and considerable on-the-ground experience of running programmes in our chosen project areas. This partnership ensures that our projects reflect the immediate needs of the communities where we work and that we have the most up-to-date information needed to make our projects effective and safe for everyone involved.
What is The Supply Chain?
The Supply Chain is a unique way for our volunteers to become ambassadors for the local communities whom they have lived and worked with during their project. Volunteers work alongside our Expert Partners and local communities to identify small items, which can make a big difference. These Supply Chain items are advertised on our website, and individuals can donate with the knowledge that these items have been identified by the volunteers and that the money will go directly to the community for that purpose. The Supply Chain is a great initiative and gives donors the opportunity to make a big difference to the everyday lives of local people in these communities.
What is Microfinance?
Microfinance is a broad term covering providing access to financial services for very poor families, usually in the developing world; though microfinance is kicking off in the UK and other developed parts of the world. Microfinance is a term used to describe the process of providing very small loans to individuals, groups and families in order to help themselves out of poverty by engaging in productive activities or setting up their own small businesses. These loans of usually no more than $200 are repaid over time and by charging interest rates the costs of credit delivery and inflation are covered, meaning the funds can be used again for future loans. Over time, microfinance has come to incorporate a broader range of services including micro-savings and micro-insurance.
