Our aims
The Great Generation is committed to developing multi-sector partnerships that complement and add capacity to ongoing development programmes. Our key aims are to promote integration, education, innovation and effectiveness, by complementing and adding capacity and skills to ongoing grass root development projects and increasing the agency of individuals.
Integration
- Complement and support the work of aid agencies and governments on the ground.
- Create long-term relationships in order to help achieve sustainable development.
- Integrate individuals, communities and cultures from around the world.
- Scale-up the involvement of companies in contributing to sustainable development.
Education
- Share resources, knowledge and skills to assist communities in developing countries
- Make volunteers aware of the causes of poverty and their role in driving and achieving change
Innovation
- Deliver creative and relevant projects focused on communitiy needs
- Develop new ways of working
Effectiveness
- Set up community-driven volunteer projects
- Help create an environment where the expertise of governments, aid agencies, companies and individuals are brought together to achieve common goals
- Provide the opportunity for people to give something back and contribute effectively to charitable causes in the future
Our overall objectives are to:

Provide financial and other opportunities to members of disadvantaged communities in need so that they are better able to meet their needs and participate in society and achieve sustained development and growth

Advance the education of the public around the issues of poverty and development (through our volunteer programme) thereby encouraging greater leadership and advocacy for change

Promote protection and improvement of the local environment for the benefit of communities affected by poverty and disaster

Engage organisations and their staff so that more skills and resources can be channelled into long-term development programmes
