What your Donation does
In order to participate in a project with The Great Generation, we ask all our volunteers to raise or contribute a minimum amount that not only covers the cost of you taking part, but also supports ongoing development in the area where you work.
The average amount is £1,200, however, you will find the exact amount within specific programme information.
The money you raise or contribute is allocated to the following areas and divided up approximately in these proportions:

Fundraising is hard work. It demands dedication and often means a commitment of several months, so be prepared. Remember that The Great Generation must receive your fundraising or contribution six weeks before you leave for your project, so the earlier you begin, the easier it will be.
Donors will want to know why they should sponsor you, so you will need to communicate what you are doing, why you are doing it, what The Great Generation is, how your money will be spent and who will benefit. Remember to ask for any help you need.
The Great Generation projects are not holidays, travel or adventure experiences. You will be committing to an ongoing programme, which includes a two-week project in the heart of a community in need.
