CMPi Leadership Development Programme Group 2

The 2nd group of volunteers taking part in the CMPi Leadership Development Programme has returned from a week in Sao Paulo. This group, also working with ACER, spent time looking at their communications and offered advice on ways they might be improved.

ACER's aim is to keep as many children as possible away from the danger and corrupting influence of street life in Sao Paulo and they do this through an activity centre which offers education, art and cultural awareness courses, a community library, and an outreach programme helping children and families at risk. A CMPi staff member commented on the work they are doing:

"What … hits me, is the modesty with which the group’s achievements are viewed. This kind of life-changing work simply doesn’t compare to my daily “workload” of meetings, lunches and writing and from now on my perspective on life will be permanently altered. In fact I genuinely don’t think anyone can visit Acer and not be changed by the experience."
