Public Sector Partners
The Great Generation links public sector partners with communities in need to identify, alleviate and innovate around the most immediate problems they confront. We engage partners with a unique programme of activity which celebrates the skills, strength and vitality of communities across the world, placing dialogue, education, and sustainability at the heart of community development.
Which public sector groups do we work with?
- Public services - such as hospitals, Metropolitan police, and government departments
- Member groups - societies, unions, clubs
- Community Groups - youth clubs, interest groups
- Education - universities, colleges, school
Our core programme is phased into four stages:
- Fundraising
- A development project with a host community
- Implementation of finance schemes - micro loans, infrastructure investments and helpful items for the community through our on-line Supply Chain - supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs in the host community and
- Ongoing engagement and networking to build further support
Each stage of engagement is participatory, leveraging partnerships and networks across a variety of sectors to offer support in the long term. A multi sector partnership approach lies at the heart of our activities - it is simple, we believe can do more and give more to our partners, through working together.
What public sector benefits does the partnership bring?
Innovative skills development: we offer individuals the opportunity to develop their creative thinking, team building and leadership skills, whilst applying their knowledge and learning from others in different life situations.
International and community development education: using the Millennium Development Goals as our framework for action, individuals learn about key international development issues, and applying this knowledge to communities at a grass roots level.
Unlocking partnership potential: we work with partners across a variety of sectors in order to ensure expert knowledge, education and support is available to participants at each stage of project implementation
Insight into social enterprise: our programmes deliver experiential learning in the fields of entrepreneurship, microfinance, and setting up and running a community enterprise.
Networking: our partnership approach ensures a variety of sectors are contributing to the programme at any one time, offering invaluable networking opportunities to all staff.
