Data Management and Corporate Partnership Development
Jordan1 May - 8 May 2010 (1 week)About this project
This project is a tailored project for Salesforce staff and will involve them spending one week working on a hunger project in conjunction with our Expert Partner, Tkiyet Um Ali, in Amman, Jordan. The volunteers will deliver a training programme in Data Management and Corporate Partnership development. This project promises to be a fascinating insight into the issues surrounding hunger and the measures needed to tackle such a huge problem. Volunteers will work alongside local people, and supported by The Great Generation staff and our expert partners, will learn more about the use of grass roots business and finance tools to alleviate poverty.
Information about taking part in this project
To take part in this project selected Salesforce staff must fill in a volunteer registration form. To confirm a place on the project you will need to transfer a £120 non-refundable donation. Volunteers are asked to fundraise a set amount of money that covers your flights, food, local transport and accommodation. Most of the services we use on the project, such as accommodation, food and transport, are sourced from the community you will be working in to help stimulate the local economy.
The fundraising also goes towards the community in two ways. One part helps to set up a microfinance fund in the community, which is used to help local people create livelihoods for themselves. The second part is provided as an infrastructure grant to the community such as a water tank or sports equipment.
